Story Kudo Shinichi is a 17 year old ( 18 now if you take the 1st movie into account ) famous "high school detective" known throughout Japan for his skills of observation and deduction. The very same skills his idol -- Sherlock Holmes is famous for. He aspires to be like his idol and become the "Sherlock of the 21st Century". He is also known by the nicknames given by the media such as "Heisei Holmes", "the Saviour of the Japanese Police Force" and etc.

One day, while going out with his childhood friend, Mouri Ran to an amusement park, a murder case occurs. Naturally, the case was brilliantly solved by him.

Later on, as he spots one of the earlier suspects behaving suspiciously. He follows the suspicious character and stumbles upon a blackmail case that involves a company dealing in an illegal arms transaction.

Unfortunately, he is caught unawares and ambushed from behind by the suspicious man's companion. Kudo Shinichi was fed with a poison (APTX 4869) that was supposed to kill him but had shrunk him instead.

After informing his neighbour, Doctor Agasa of his plight. His childhood friend, Mouri Ran comes looking for him. In order to protect her and other innocent people who might be harmed if the men who poisoned him came looking for him, Kudo Shinichi hides his identity by taking on the name of Edogawa Conan (a combination of the names of EDOGAWA Ranpo and Sir Arthur CONAN Doyle, both of which are famous writers of detective stories). Doctor Agasa then suggested him to stay with his childhood friend, Mouri Ran as her father, Mouri Kogoro has a detective agency which would help gather information about the men who poisoned him.

As Conan waits for news of the men, he stumbles upon cases(murder, mystery and etc) along the way. Watch as he solves case after case. A great detective who knows no limits -- Shinjitsu wa itsumo hitotsu!

Shinjitsu wa itsumo hitotsu! -- is his line and it means "there is always one truth!".

This is for those who likes chibis -- Conan is actually chibi Kudo Shinichi!
